Steamed Chicken with Chinese Sausage

I cooked this simple dish today. I don't fancy chinese sausage (lap cheong) but i like" lap yuk" (dark fat wax pork, sorry i didn't know what is it call.) Try to find chinese text here, i'm still novice on blogging,  don't know where to find the chinese text. :OP

Verdict: The drumstick soft and the gravy tasted yummy. My kids like the chinese sausage so much.

Last week my mom in law gave us some chinese sausage. I got some boneless drumstick and "lap yuk" in my freezer, i steamed it with chinese sausage. The recipe i got it from the recipe book below.

Ingredient:
1 Half Chicken (i used boneless drumstick)
2 pcs Chinese Sausage (Lap Cheong)
50gm Lap yuk
2 slices Garlic (Chop finely)
1 slice Ginger (Chop finely)

Seasoning:
Soy sauce - 2tsp
Rice wine - 1tbsp
Cornflour - 1tbsp

Method:
1. Rinse the chicken with water and pat dried with paper towel. Rinse lap cheong and lap yuk then cut nto slices.
2. Marinate chicken with seasoning and rub the ginger and garlic onto chicken. Place lap cheong and lap yuk into chicken. Keep in the fridge for 30mins.
3. Steam the chicken for about 20mins.

"Sorry, you have to turn your head upside down :OP. I can't rotate the pic as i can't save it into my harddisk which is full of memory. Thumb drive also full of memory..sigh."

Green Tea and Orange Snowkin Mooncake

After trial and error on snowkin mooncake, i made it finally but the moulding part still need more improvement. I think either the green tea skin was too thin or maybe the way i hold the snowkin not gentle enough. But at least this time can see the sheep pattern on orange mooncake :OP unlike from my previous post can't see the pattern at all. Or maybe i should not use the jelly mould, that's why the skin are unstable when it taken out.

The Green Tea snowkin mooncake's recipe was adapted from Nasilemaklover's blog. The orange one i replaced the water to fresh orange juice. Initially, i thought of buying lotus paste for filling but out of stock. I  tried out Charcoal Bamboo Lotus paste. This time i added egg yolk into Charcoal Bamboo Lotus for the filling..Not bad though.

Mooncakes

I have seen many bloggers making a nice and colourful mooncake for this coming Mooncake Festival.
For newbies like me, i just know how to make Shanghai mooncake which is more easier. But my snow skin mooncake still need more improvement.

Fried Meehoon with AMC pot

As I was busy making mooncake this afternoon. I used AMC pot to fried meehoon for lunch and dinner. Quick and easy, just dump all the ingredients into the AMC pot and covered.

Stewed pork belly with dry chillies

I usually cooked this stewed pork belly few hours early for the dinner so i don't have to rush when comes to dinner time. I cooked this in the afternoon for dinner on last sunday before i attend the yoga class. This is easy for me as after my class over, i just need to prepare dinner for kids with ready cooked rice and stewed pork.

Sorry for the blur vision as it was snapped by handphone. I think this is one of the Hakka recipe. The sources i got it from my friend few years back. She gave me a rough idea how to prepare this dish. After few attempts my improvement is getting better. I dont have the proper recipe, i just assume the amount of soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar and dark soy sauce. If i feed my kids with this dish i will usually scoop some of the porks and gravy in different bowl as they can't eat spicy. Lastly, iwill add the dry chillies and cooked for a while.
