Orange Chiffon Cake

I was so happy as i finally made the perfect chiffon cake compared to my first attempt from previous post.. Besides, i used the wrong knife to cut the cake as you can see the layering there. During my first attempt from my previous post, i didn't really study on the egg white beaten steps provided by Wendy's blog. And the cake was moist last time. This time i really pay attention on the steps by steps on how the egg white reached to the stff peak. My cake turned out nicely without fall down and is not moist. Thanks to Wendy for sharing the steps.

Marbled Orange Chocolate Chiffon Cake

I love Chiffon Cake. I've been learning to bake Chiffon Cake but never success not reach to the original chiffon standard. This time I took the challenge to bake 2 types of flavour. I follow the recipes from j3ssKitch3n's blog. Her Marbled Chiffon Cake looks so fabulous. I can't resist to bake it.

The original recipe used 21cm tube pan but i used 20cm tube pan. I transfer some of the batter into muffin paper cup. This time i got the chiffon texture but the cake quite moist/wet. I don't know why maybe due to over beaten egg whites or pan not wide enough. Any expert can advice me on this? Overall, the taste of the orange and choc combination are very good. I used dark choc which is not too sweet. I have to bake more than 50mins maybe due to small oven.

I will never give up, will try it again.

Choc Chiffon Cake

I think I'm not a good baker for cake but i admit i'm a good bread baker :oP.
The recipe was adapted from Happyhomebaking. Although her cake was shrinking but she still have a nice texture unlike mine. My cake rose well but after i inverting the pan immediately, the cake dropped off  and it was shrinking :o(  My heart shrinking also after see this..hahahhaa ..Although is not what i expected the cake taste good and not so sweet. I like to chew together with the walnut and apricot.

Orange Chiffon Cake

This is the shortest version of chiffon cake. I bought the Chiffon Cake Mix from bakery ingredient shop. The boss told me that the easy method to bake chiffon cake is use this cake mix just added eggs, water and oil unlike the original method which you have to separate egg yolks and egg white. The chiffon cake mix i bought is 500gm and required 8-10 eggs..I don't have confident to bake the whole packets so i just bake half only.
I substitute orange juice with water and added some orange rind. The whole cake taste orangy like the first Orange Chiffon cake that i baked last time.

Frankly, i'm still prefer the original version..the tall one.
